Why can't I log into my account?
A: If there is an error message that pops up on the page then either you are not inputting the correct login information or your account has been disabled. If you have forgotten your login information you can email us at [email protected] or call us at 413-663-3496.
Disabled Account: We may have disabled your account because you posted an inappropriate ad, posted in the incorrect category or somehow violated the terms and policy of our site. Please email us at [email protected] or call us at 413-663-3496 if you have questions.
**If there is no error message on the page then your web browser cookie settings are set too high. You may need to lower your cookie settings on your web browser. Your cookie settings are set differently for different browsers. If you are using INTERNET EXPLORER you need to go to: TOOLS / INTERNET OPTIONS / PRIVACY TAB. Lower the cookie setting by dragging the dial down. Then click apply, then OK.
Why Should I become a Club RacingJunk Member?
A: Club RacingJunk Members enjoy many more features and options on RacingJunk.com depending on which level you are on. Our Fan Club level (great for browsers) lets users increase thumbnail size, fade viewed classifieds and early access to listings. Our Pro Club level (great for sellers) including 5 ad positions, free photo galleries and value points that can be used to purchase ad upgrades.
What are Value Points?
A: Value Points are given to Pro Club RacingJunk Members on initial sign up and when membership is renewed. Value Points can be used to upgrade ads. You may apply the points to feature, premier or repost ads. Once your Value Points are depleted, the upgrade feature you selected will revert back to being charged at the regular rate. Value Points are only available to Pro Club RacingJunk Members and Businesses. Annual Pro Club RacingJunk members will receive 6500 ($65) points each year, Monthly Pro Club RacingJunk members will receive 500 ($5) each month. Each point is worth $.01. So that $10 in value points = 1,000 value points.
Do I have to register to use the site?
A: No. You can browse the site and search ads without being a member, though you will not be considered part of our online racing community. If you want to post ads you must become a free Basic member of RacingJunk.com.
How do I change my email address?
A: Log in to the site and go to 'My Account'. Click on the 'Change' link located next to the email address that you have on file. Insert a new address. To verify the change we will send you a link to the new email address. Click on that link and your new email address will be updated.
How do I cancel my current account and start a new one?
A: We don't cancel accounts as they are kept for historical purposes. You can, however, change your username, password, and the associated email address with your account so that it will appear as a new account.
How do I cancel my membership?
A: You can send an email to [email protected] and request this and we will send you back a confirmation.
Do I have to be a member to create ads?
A: Yes, you must become a free Basic member. Registration is simple and it's FREE.
Are there guidelines for posting my ad?
A: Yes, there are guidelines which can be found here.
What are the do's and dont's for posting copy and/or images.
A: Protecting items that are originally owned by others is our number one concern when it comes to the posting of ads, if you don't own the rights to post the item, don't post it. There are guidelines that clearly state our policies on copywriter infringements which can be found here.
I sold my item. How do I stop my ad from running?
A: Once a sale has been reported on your ad it will automatically be moved to the SOLD ADS category in "MY ADS". You can make an Honor Payment then. If you simply want to remove the ad yourself you can delete the ad when you go to EDIT at the bottom of your ad in MY ADS. If you do nothing after you have sold your item your ad will remain on the site for the length of time selected during the posting process. It will be removed automatically when that time has expired.
I upgraded my ad to a Premier Ad and after doing so my ad still doesn't appear?
A: You do not have an image as your main picture so that will not display
as a Premiere correctly, to fix this you need to add an image.
You must login and click "My Ads." Then click EDIT MEDIA and then BROWSE for a file to be your main images. Once you find a file and click OPEN, the image will start uploading. When you see the image on the ad scroll down and click SAVE CHANGES. The ad will display your image correctly and then be able to post in the PREMIER section of the site.
How do I repost an expired ad?
A: You can repost an expired ad by going to your account and clicking on "Expired Ads". (Deleted or Expired ads remain in the database for 90 days.) You can automatically repost your ad in blocks of 4 weeks by clicking on "Repost". If you don't want to use our automatic service you can click on "Post an Ad" to recreate a new one.
How do I modify the text in an ad?
A: You may add additional text to an ad by logging in and clicking "MyAds". Then click EDIT TEXT. Please note that you cannot change the original text of the ad. This is a security function of the site. You would need to delete the ad and post a new one in its place in order to change the original description.
How do I extend an expired ad? Non-expired ad?
A: There are two ways to refresh an ad and get it posted back to the front:
1. Use the Automatic Re-posting option, which posts the ad back to the front. This option has a $10.00 service fee, but you can your value points to cover this. You may get to that by logging into your account and clicking on "My Ads", then EXPIRED ADS and REPOST.
If your ad is not expired yet, you can login and click "My Ads" then UPGRADE and select REPOST.
If you would like the ad to repost every day, you can add that option on the UPGRADE page. The cost for that upgrade is $250 per month..
2. Once the ad has been removed, you can post a new one in its place by clicking POST AD and type out the ad again. (FREE)
How do I change my phone number on my ad?
A: You can change the phone number on an existing ad by logging in and clicking "My Ads". Then click EDIT TEXT and change the phone number on the ad.
If you have a change on your account, please let us know the old phone number and the new phone number so that we can modify the account and so it will correctly display the next time you post an ad.
I am having problems posting my photo?
A: First make sure that your photo is in JPG format and no more than 600 pixels wide. Most digital cameras take photos that are much larger. Your photo software should allow you to resize down to 600 pixels. If none of that works, try posting the ad first without the photo. Go back to "My Ads" and click on 'Edit' under the ad you want to post the photo in. Go through the process of uploading your photo. There is a time out function on the posting process and not on the editing process, so the above process should work. If you still have a stubborn photo you can email it to us as an attachment, along with the ad number, and we will post that for you. Email it to [email protected]
Where can I see NEW ADS posted today?A: Ads that are posted today are placed in a 24-hour exclusive hold for our club users (Fan and Club) to view first. After the time period is up they are viewable to the rest of the public the next day. You can view these ads in the "Early Access Ads" section of the site or by clicking on "Ads By Day". The default date is always today's date. You can view other dates by changing the date in that field. If you want to see an ad that has been placed today in an exclusive hold you can wait until the next day or upgrade to our Fan Club membership HERE
How much do ads cost?
A: For individuals, we allow 2 free ad posts. You have the ability to choose from many upgrades to increase your items exposure including featured ads, reposts, galleries and more. Click here for detailed pricing.
How long does each ad run?
A: You can choose the length of time you want an ad to run ranging from 1 to 16 weeks.
What is an Honor Member?
A: An Honor Member is someone who has successfully used the site to sell their item(s) and has made an Honor Payment to us as outlined in our site agreement. To reward members that send us Honor Payments we put the Honor Member icon on their ad. This prestigious icon is visible to all individuals that browse or search or ads. It lets potential buyers know that they are dealing with a reputable seller that supports RacingJunk.com. Your Honor Member Level will change accordingly.
Where do I make an Honor Payment?
A: In the "My Ads" section of your account you will see a link at the top of every ad you post "Honor Payment". Click on that link and it will direct you to the location to make a payment. There is also a link in the drop down that pops up when you hover over your name in the top right hand corner of site that will take you to the same location. Why is my PayPal Honor Payment not showing up?
A: It requires 1 business day for internal processing.
Do I have to be a Club Racing Junk Member to use the rating system?
A: No, any member whether Basic, Club Racing Junk or Business can use the rating system.
What can RacingJunk.com do if I got scammed?
A: We can supply you with any ad and account info if you are taking legal action against this person. If you can fax over documentation that proves you are taking legal action against this person, i.e. court papers or a letter from an attorney we can disable the account, and provide a legal entity with member/ad/message information that will help you with your pursuit of this person.
What can I do to prevent getting scammed
A: It is very important that our members notify us of any potential scams or scamers right away. In addition to informing us of potential scams, we strongly encourage our members to use an ESCROW account to complete any transactions that you are not making in person. We encourage members to use an escrow service to make sure that your transaction is safely done. An escrow service protects both parties involved in the transaction. Buyers receive and inspect the merchandise before the Seller is paid. Sellers receive their money if the Buyer accepts the merchandise. For more information go to www.escrow.com.
Can I Search by State/Region?
A: You can search by State, Zip Code, distance from Zip Code, Category, Sub Category, ads with Photos only, New or Used, Price Range and most Recent Posts using the advanced search option on the homepage.
What do the various icons mean?
